Getting Started 🔢
To become a Media.net publisher, start by emailing pubsales@media.net. This is how you'll submit your application. In your email, you should mention your name and the website where you're looking to feature ads.
Once you're approved, you'll get access to the Media.net publisher dashboard. Here, you can add your payout information and your website details.
Next, you're ready to create your first ad unit. Ad units are customizable ad containers that you'll later display on your website to earn money. You can change their color and the type of ads that they hold. For example, you could create a square display ad for your website sidebar, and then a text-based ad for within your blog content.
Earning Money 💵
Once your account and ad units are set up, all that's left to do is to insert the ad units on your pages. With each ad unit you create, you'll get a script that you can use to insert the ad.
You can insert your ads manually via code, or you can use a plugin to programmatically insert the ads for you. Media.net offers its own "Ads Manager" plugin for WordPress users to help with this process.
While setting up your ads, be aware that Media.net may limit you to a certain number of ad units per page. For example, you may only be able to place three (3) ad units per page. Be sure to abide by this, or your account could get suspended.
Once the ads are inserted, you'll start earning money every time one of your readers clicks one. (Some ads may require two clicks from the reader to result in a payment.)
Keep in mind that Media.net may take 15-30 days to fully optimize the ads for your content. During this optimization period, earnings may be lower.
Cashing Out 💰
Once you have at least $100 in your balance, you can cash out your Media.net earnings via Payoneer or Wire Transfer.
After cashing out, you can expect to receive your Media.net payout in 30 days.(Media.net operates on a net-30 day payout schedule.)

Nice customizability, poor earnings
Media.net was the first ad network I ever used, and the overall experience was good, but the earnings just weren't good enough for me to stick around. If you're a website owner, it's worth trying out, but be sure to try other options too.
- Ads can be customized to your websites theme
- Ads are text-based and display-based, which provides nice variety
- Ads are dynamically chosen based on other content on the page, making them fit in better.
- Account managers are helpful.
- Low RPMs (earnings per thousand impressions). On average, my Media.net RPMs were $1.25. My highest ever was $3.43 on the 4th of July. For some additional context, on the ad network that I'm with now (Mediavine), I average around $13-$20 RPMs.
- Some ads require users to click the ad once, and then click again on a separate landing page, in order to payout. Even if this increases revenue (which, based on my RPMs, it doesn't), this just seems like a poor user experience to me.
- Test other ad networks to see if you can get better RPMs.
