Get money for things you'd already do.
Overall, I think Ibotta's a great way to earn cash back on purchases you'd buy already. I just think it'd be better if they had a lower minimum withdrawal rate, but that's all. Sometimes you also forget about the app when you're actually in the store too.
I would recommend it to anyone who's looking to make money online, it's reliable, it pays, it's just a great app all round. It might take some time to find offers that really apply to you but in my opinion it's worth the saved money.
- It's really easy. All you have to do is add the shop to your list of shops, then scan the receipt (to show you really bought something) and then you've got money!
- It pays you for things you'd already be doing. You'd be grocery shopping anyway, spending money anyway, it's not like Ibotta asks you to buy things you wouldn't usually. You're spending money anyway so why don't you earn some back?
- It helps you find coupons and discounts for shops you might not have seen before Ibotta.
- If you're not sure whether a product you would buy normally is available for cashback or not, it's really easy to check: all you have to do is use the built-in scanner.
- Poor customer service. I had to contact them as I couldn't sign into my account and while they responded right away, it took a while to get things sorted.
- You have to earn at least $20 before you can withdraw any money, this is quite a high minimum withdrawal rate, but at least it's quite easy.
- Combine cash back offers with coupons and sales. Check your grocery store for items that are on sale and see if the products are on Ibotta. If you make a grocery list, look on Ibotta to see if any of the items are available.
- Use the “any brand” rebates. Occasionally you’ll see “any brand” rebates - they work for any brand. They're usually less profitable ($0.25 to $0.50), but they don’t require you to buy a specific brand, which is great.

When combined with a multitude of receipt management apps, one receipt can go a long way to rack up rewards over time.
It took me awhile to come around to Ibotta, but now I can't imagine going grocery shopping without it. It's one of the most thorough grocery receipt apps I know of and provides rewards from everything from name-brand products to store-brand items, along with consistent promotions and bonuses every week.
- Applicable at most grocery stores
- Constantly changing deals and offers
- Easy interface to use day-to-day
- Not much tutorial material and can be initially difficult for new users
- Sporadic bonuses that vary from week-to-week instead of being stagnant
- Basic receipt upload bonuses vary from store to store
- Double-check the daily Ibotta offers and shopping list items before grocery shopping
- Double-check once again after grocery shopping
- Don't be afraid to dispute any missing items claims as needed
- I always strive to upload my receipts as soon as possible after getting them in order to assure I receive bonuses on-time before they dissipate.

The freebies alone are enough to use the app.
This app is prime for frequent shoppers. If you have a family or you just spend a lot of money shopping this app is a must. The bonuses are often worth more than cashback if you complete multiple different orders.
- My favorite way to earn here is looking out for free products and getting 100% cashback or looking for items I already use that offer cashback
- Redeeming multiple cashback offers usually count towards bonuses which also pay cashback for completing them
- Withdrawing gift cards have either no minimum withdrawal or a small one
- Withdrawing to Paypal requires a $20 minimum
- Redeeming correct offers is difficult without being the primary shopper
- Keep receipts from larger, retail locations since smaller stores usually aren't partnered and don't offer cashback through Ibotta
- Double check your list to make sure all offers are there before redeeming, you can only submit a receipt one time
- If you are completing multiple offers at the same time, there's usually a well-paying bonus for completing multiple you may want to wait around for if you don't see one on your homepage.
- I usually just scan any and all my receipts at the end of the week to see if any have eligible offers to redeem on the app which is why it's really helpful to be the primary shopper since you will know what offers you have completed. I also try to complete all deals in a short time frame to achieve any time-limited bonuses going on.

Awesome and it accepts almost all retailers.
Ibotta is a great receipt scanner with extra point offers that has some for everyone.
- has a bunch of gift cards to exchange for
- has a referral program
- i like pretty much everything about it, it's one of my favorite receipt scanners
- refer your friends!
- don't forget to scan even your gas receipts!
- Scan my receipts as soon as you get them.

It’s an easy way to earn money. It doesn’t hurt to try.
- Free stuff
- Easy to use
- Not every site is on there
- Things run out in stores so fast once they’re posted as free
- Look for free stuff
- I add every single coupon there is for the store I want so if I buy something I don’t miss out on the cash back

Shop frequently at grocery stores? See a return for your shopping.
Ibotta is one of the most successful ways I have made money. Refer a friend bonuses are generous and the ability to cash out via Paypal or electronic gift cards is why I consider Ibotta an asset.
- The myriad of retailers that participate with Ibotta (in-store and online).
- Rebates can be small or large, yet add up significantly.
- The ability to purchase electronic gift cards at major retailers such as REI, Nordstrom, Best Buy, CVS, etc.
- Cashing out is simple and secure with Paypal.
- The option of linking store loyalty cards or submitting the image of paper receipts.
- In-app purchases. Linking a debit card to ""buy a gift card"" at a retailer and get money back for your purchase at a brick and mortar store.
- Rebates from food delivery platforms such as GrubHub or UberEats may end up taking more than a month to credit to your account.
- Paper receipts are only as good as the printer. There are instances with some of my receipts where the date and/or qualifying items are obscured by poor printing. The condition of these receipts had to be resubmitted to Ibotta's support.
- Having to buy more than one item to garner a rebate (some items can be expensive).
- Make sure your email is verified.
- Set up Paypal if you choose to withdraw your earnings.
- Try to recruit friends. Earning as a team accelerates reaching bonus offers.
- Don't spend money on items you will not need.
- Devote time to go through rebate galleries and see what is available.
- Make a shopping list for the store you are intending to shop at, then label which items have Ibotta rebates attached to them.
