Good but be careful
The site is good and their are genuine jobs but on the other end has people who will get your money if you are not careful.
Their are a lot of jobs available. Pay is relatively higher.
Fake jobs are available on the site. Some clients are scammers. Whenever you miss a job pop out, getting back to it is not easy.
Always bid for higher clients. Need to offer clients different services to make more than enough.

The design contests are good
Can be a good place to start as a new freelancer, especially if you're someone who's really active and can keep a tab on everything.
None
On design contests, some clients don't choose good work, and many freelancers fill up low quality designs and high quality work gets lost.
Exchange rates are low. High fees + Taxes aren't done well.
Keep on participating in the contests. Don't participate where entries are 100+. Compare the quality of work and make the best possible design to save yourself.
Give time and have patience. Don't lose hope. Stay mindful. Don't pay anything if someone asks.

It is a good earning app
It is a good earning app as the payment does not originate from the site itself but clients. It is safe to use freelancer.com since it is guaranteed because the client pays first for the work to be done. Their contact support is also amazing.
One can choose which skill or work they can do and they charge their own rates. No hefty withdrawal fees.
Competition. The jobs here are go through bidding and hence there is stiff competition from other freelancers from all over the world.
Your profile speaks volumes about the projects you will be chosen. Make sure your profile is appealing to the clients. Make sure to learn and market the right in-demand skills as well.
For bidding, best strategy is to bid on many projects as possible. This will increase the chances of winning the bids.

Do not join Freelancer
I wouldn't recommend it because it gives a lot of power to contractors/clients and not so much to the workers like me and you, so you can get scammed easily. It also asks you to pay in advance.
The huge amount of work to do
The low pay
Do all the jobs possible and regularly apply for jobs. Put the most skills possible in the about me section.

Lots of spam
This site has a lot of people who will spam you , you have to be careful. Don't pay anything to get a job.
Jobs are always available. The rates are competitive.
You can be spammed. Many scammers on this platform.
One tip is to be careful. This site has a lot of scammers who are ready to feed on your money. Never pay on anything before working.

Bad website, don't waste your time.
You will waste a lot of time only to be undercut by almost 80% by someone from Nigeria. Getting your first gig is significantly more difficult than most other places.
I stopped using this app. You can't make decent money without building a profile doing work for way below your standard rate.
Lots of jobs available for every domain of freelancing work. Direct engagement with customer to build potential relationships.
Lots of people from Pakistan/Bang/Nigeria undercutting and doing crappy work. Not only does the customer not get a good service, it drives legit devs out of this platform.
Heavy competition even among niche jobs.
The rating system gives advantage to people who were early birds and started early on the platform.
Client can scam you as they don't take any guarantee for payment, just connect you to potential clients.
Stay away, this site will give you a lot of stress and pressure. Do not get excited seeing all the new jobs popping up every second, you'll most likely won't get them unless you wish to work for peanuts.

It's like Upwork with some changes
I don't use it as much as Upwork, but occasionally look at interesting projects to bid.
If you are a beginner, this platform gives you presence but not enough money
It's bidding system
Huge undercutting by other freelancers

Not good enough
Bid system is good
Competition from underdeveloped countries
Bid and try your luck. Or, try using upwork or fiverr instead of this

Pretty good for freelancers
Easy to use. Lots of opportunities. I also like the interface.
Sometimes there are no tasks. Sometimes clients underpay
Be patient. Keep up on the latest posts
