Here's how Evidation works for each of those user types:
For Members
Evidation Members can earn points by exercising, tracking health data, answering surveys, reading articles, and more. 1 Evidation point = $0.001. After accumulating $10.00 (~10,000 Points), points can be exchanged for PayPal cash, direct deposit money, gift cards, charity donations, and more.
Getting Started 🔢
Becoming an Evidation member is free. To get started, head over to the Play Store or Apple App store, search for Evidation, and download the app. When creating your account, you'll have to enter your email, password, name, and phone number.
After signing in, you may be asked to fill out a health survey. This is a paid survey that asks about your general health and helps Evidation connect you to relevant opportunities in the future. You can re-do it every year to keep it up to date.
Sign up bonus: For members who sign up via a friend's referral link, both you and your friend will earn 100 bonus points.
Earning Money 💵
The primary way to earn money on Evidation is by tracking exercise and health data via wearables and 3rd party apps:
- Exercising. When you connect a device – such as a fitbit – or an app like Apple Health to Evidation, you can earn points for things like biking, exercising, running, swimming, walking, meditating, and more.
- Health tracking. This is another way to earn with a connected health device or app. By tracking and sharing things like your blood pressure, food, glucose, heart rate, sleep times, water intake, weight, and more, you'll earn points. is also possible. Points you earn through these activities are called non-fixed activities, which means the points you get depends on different variables, such as the calories you burn, the kilometers / laps you jog, the minutes you spend on the exercise, etc.
Keep in mind, you can only earn a maximum of 100 points/day with the opportunities above.
Other ways to earn on Evidation include:
- Polls and surveys. These are typically quick multiple-choice questions that pay a small number of points.
- Research studies. These are larger research studies, including academic and clinical trials. You'll receive a screener before qualifying, and if you do qualify, you could earn as much as $200+ for participating.
- Articles. Evidation will sometimes send health-related articles your way. Read them to earn.
- Referrals. Earn 100 points for each new member you send to the app via your referral link. You can refer a max of 20 people.
Cashing Out 💰
Once you have at least $10.00 (~10,000 Points) in your balance, you can cash out your Evidation earnings via Charity Donations, Direct Deposit, Gift Cards, PayPal, Prepaid Credit Cards, Tremendous Rewards or Venmo.
After cashing out, you can expect to receive your Evidation payout in 1-9 days. (Evidation uses a third-party vendor called Tremendous to process payouts. Most payouts should arrive within 5 business days but can take up to 7 business days.)

Our Editorial Evidation Review
Is Evidation Legit?
We believe that Evidation is legit. It was founded in 2012, has positive reviews and fairly few online complaints considering its size, and is owned by a reputable and international company. Although there are negative reviews and minor problems with the platform, mostly to do with how much users get paid, we have no real reason to believe Evidation is a scam.
Green flags:
- Founded in 2012.
- Owned by a very prominent private company, Evidation Health, that is valued at over $1 billion USD with an estimated annual revenue of $41.8M.
- Has existing partnerships with Johnson & Johnson, the American College of Cardiology Foundations, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Lyft, the Digital Medicine Society, and more.
- Massive social media presence and social sentiment seems to be generally positive.
- Website is well-designed and has all the necessary information for people interested in joining the program. Very intuitive design and looks very professional.
- Extremely easy-to-access public information about the company and app itself, its founders, etc.
- Many users and plenty of positive reviews across the web. Few complaints considering its age and size.
- Responds to negative reviews quickly.
Red flags:
- Decent amount of negative reviews that state that Evidation is a waste of time / has gotten worse over past years / doesn't give enough points for certain activities.
- Asks for a lot of very personal information to do with member health.
Note: All research is done independently and could be wrong or change as new information is gathered. Please do your own due diligence.

Evidation Studies Don't Honor Their Payment Agreements with Participants
Use the regular evidation platform but DO NOT waste your time being a participant in any of the Evidation studies.
The Evidation platform of answering questions and reading articles is fine. I haven't had a bad experience with this part of Evidation. The Evidation studies though on the other hand, there is nothing good I would say about Evidation studies.
The regular Evidation platform takes a long time to be able to earn enough points to redeem for anything.
Evidation studies though has been a complete nightmare to deal with. For the Evidation Cardiac Risk Factors Study I was to complete 3 virtual visits and follow protocols to log my blood pressures 4 times a day. However, the technology that I was provided frequently didn't upload the data so I received many emails and phone calls about the data issue and would have to complete troubleshooting often.
The worst part though was trying to get my information updated after I had to discontinue due to a contraindicated medication I was started on midway into the study. I was directed to charge the devices for 5 days before sending them back but I started receiving emails and texts by the 4th day saying that I had failed to return my devices. Then for weeks after the devices had been returned, with Fedex confirmation, I kept getting emails, texts, phone calls that both said that my data wasn't uploading properly so I needed to complete troubleshooting with someone from the study and also that my devices hadn't been returned yet and I needed to return them.
In spite of frequently asking study employees to update my information correctly and having to remind them that I was no longer a participate in the study, it took several weeks for my information to be updated properly. My 3rd virtual visit was cancelled within moments of the starting time and I had to reschedule and that was completed on 5/1. The employee told me that I already had my 3rd virtual visit, I had to explain that it was cancelled by Evidation moments before it was to start. The employee told me it had been marked as completed already but went ahead and actually conducted the 3rd virtual visit with me. It is now 7/17 and I received payments for all the activities that I completed except for the 3rd virtual visit which doesn't even show as completed on my participant dashboard, I have repeatedly asked for this to be corrected since 6/28 without any resolution. A manager scheduled a date and time to call me on 7/14 and never did. I've reached out, still haven't received any responses from Evidation about any of it. I highly doubt that I will receive the remaining payment that I'm owed for completing the 3rd virtual visit.
Avoid the evidation studies, stick with just the plain evidation platform to answer questions and read articles for points every day.

Really good encouragement to be active and rewards you for being healthy.
I love it, but it isn’t as engaging as other apps out there. You earn points extremely fast though in comparison to other apps.
- reliable. It doesn’t revoke surveys from you (there are some you may not qualify for though) and the surveys/readings are very easy to do (plus educational!)
- Healthy! It promotes a healthy lifestyle and pays you for it, that in itself is awesome.
- I wish they gave more things to do, when you run out of surveys the app doesn’t supply them that quickly.
- Get active, this app is a great encouragement
- surveys will pay out larger sums than exercise
