Appen is an interesting opportunity and it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for an easy way to make money or start working from home. There's a large variety of different opportunities on the platform, getting started is pretty easy and quick, and you might learn some new skills along the way. You could even land a long-term project doing something you enjoy, and this can result in a steady stream of income.
That said, don’t set your expectations too high. Appen is not a perfect opportunity and if you’re expecting to easily find full-time work or make a ton of money here, that’s not going to happen.

A reliable earning opportunity
Appen is a reliable earning sites since if your accuracy is high you will have many jobs in your dashboard. They have a wide range of jobs from data collection, social media evaluation and more
- One can work at anytime
- There are plenty of jobs
- There is generally a low pay compared to other sites
- Some projects/tasks requires high skills from Instructions which may sometimes be hard to follow
- When your accuracy drops, you get disqualified from many jobs. This affected my earnings.
- Make sure your profile is complete and you have added all your information and devices. This will help you qualify for more projects.
- Tasks like social media evaluation are pretty easy to handle and take less time to do. They are good for new users
- Best strategy is to specialise in one kind of job and ensure your accuracy is high. Sometimes the pay increases with accuracy level
It is a legit app
The site is not bad though not consistent. You have to wait until an employer has a project they want worked on then you will apply for the project if you qualify
Video recording projects
- Not consistent. Not all times are the projects available
- Update your profile regularly so as to qualify for projects
- Submit high quality videos so they don't get discarded
To college students with some free time, it's a good way to earn money.

- UI is not great.
- Don't waste your whole day on beermoney sites, only use them to earn quick money, acquiring new skills like AI/DS/ML/App Dev should be a priority if you don't have a career. These websites pay payout good, but the work is not sustainable enough to live off it.
- Look for translation job OR jobs with lot of HIIT tasks with no cap on maximum no. of tasks. Apart from that, visit the site every 6 hours.
Its a great website and it takes some effort to be paid but its super worth it
Absolutely easy to use and good for those couple of free hours to spend making some money

- some jobs just suck, cant do much about it. Transcription takes the life out of you for a meager 2cents per word
