How Does American Consumer Opinion Work?
For Members
American Consumer Opinion members can earn points by participating in surveys, testing products, mystery shopping, and more. 1 ACOP point = $0.01. After accumulating at least $10.00 (~1,000 Points), earnings can be cashed out via PayPal, check, and other options.
Getting started:
Becoming an American Consumer Opinion member is completely free.
To get started, just head over to the website (or download the app) and complete the sign-up process. During the signup, you'll be asked to provide your email address, password, name, country, address, and postal code. You can also choose the language you prefer to take surveys -- options include English, Spanish, French, Japanese, and more.
Earning money:
After registering, you'll be taken to your member dashboard. Here, you'll be able to see your points balance and available surveys. You can also receive survey notifications via email or cell phone.
There are two types of surveys you can participate in:
- Screeners. These are short surveys that are typically just a few minutes long. They help you qualify for full-length surveys and may also award you with sweepstakes entries (for things like cash, gift cards, or other prizes) and/or points (typically between 5-50 or $0.05-$0.50).
- Full-length surveys. These are regular surveys that typically take longer than 5 minutes to complete. They pay around 50-5,000 points ($0.50-$50) each depending on the length.
Besides surveys, you can also earn money on American Consumer Opinion by:
- Testing products. ACOP will send the product to your home at no cost to you, and you'll be asked to use it and provide feedback.
- Participating in focus groups. These are more in-depth interview-style surveys that happen in person or live over the web, either 1-on-1 or in a group.
- Mystery shopping. You may be asked to visit stores or restaurants to complete specific tasks.
These types of opportunities are less common but can pay out 100-50,000 points ($1-$50) or more.
Cashing out:
Once you have at least $10.00 (~1,000 Points) in your earnings balance, you can cash out via Charity Donations, Check, Hyperwallet or PayPal. Payouts typically take 42-86 days to be sent out.
