There are essentially three legit ways to get paid to watch ads:
- Paid to click – These types of platforms are transparent with their advertisers and offer paid-to-click ads as a service. The advertiser knows what type of advertising they're getting and pay for a certain number of clicks. Examples include Fire Faucet and Paidverts.
- Apps that run ads and share revenue – With these apps, you get paid to watch ads and the creator of the app shares some of the revenue with you. This can be done by clicking a “Watch ads” button or similar. If you've ever played a mobile game that rewards you with in-game currency or extra lives in exchange for watching an ad, the idea here is similar, except you're earning real money. In some cases, apps will also offer lock screen ads that appear on your phone screen and pay you each time you unlock your phone (like S'more).
- Reviewing ads – This is a more sophisticated (and typically higher-paying) way to make money watching ads. Companies will occasionally look for feedback on their newest commercials on places like Slicethepie. This requires a bit more brainpower but is also much less monotonous.
All of these methods can be done without investment, so if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, please run far away. Any “earn money watching ads” opportunities that require an upfront payment are almost certainly a scam.
